Texas Monthly announced on Oct. 12 that its BBQ Fest will take over Lockhart, the self-described barbecue capital of Texas, on Nov. 7 and 8.
The festival includes the BBQ World's Fair, the Top 50 Picnic and the Taco Trail, which is back by popular demand. The free BBQ World's Fair begins at noon on Saturday, Nov. 7, in downtown Lockhart with pitmaster cooking demonstrations. The Top 50 Picnic follows on Sunday at Lockhart City Park.

The announcement said more than 35 joints from Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ list, including all of the top ten, are participating. Music acts include Shinyribs and the Weary Boys. The magazine's Top 50 list is published only every few years; the most recent edition appeared in 2025.
Check Texas Monthly's event page for ticketing and schedule details, since published start times vary between listings.
