Houston Claims Five of Six New Michelin Bib Gourmands in Texas
Bar Buena, Khói Barbecue, Kitchen Rumors, Murray's Pizza & Wine and Xolo made the list, though the city earned no new stars.
Houston's restaurant scene dominated the value-minded side of Michelin's 2026 Texas selection, taking five of the six new Bib Gourmand awards announced Oct. 8.
The Houston winners are Bar Buena, Khói Barbecue, Kitchen Rumors, Murray's Pizza & Wine and Xolo, the last noted by Michelin for Mexico City-inspired cocktails and small plates. The only other new Bib Gourmand in Texas went to Resident Taqueria in Dallas. Bib Gourmand recognizes good cooking at moderate prices.
No new stars, more recognition
Houston did not receive a new star this year; Austin and Fort Worth took all three. Local reporting counted the city among the leaders in new distinctions, adding Recommended restaurants such as Levant BBQ to its tally.
The result continues a trend visible in the Texas guide: Houston's depth in everyday dining, from barbecue to pizza to cocktail bars, is earning steady attention even without star promotions.
