The team departed for camp on July 27 and held its first full practice on July 29. For the first time in years, the Cowboys opened without a group of players rehabbing off to the side — a fully healthy roster that has fueled optimism in the building and among fans. Quarterback Dak Prescott set the tone at a camp press conference, speaking openly about Super Bowl expectations for 2026.
Early standouts
A few names jumped out in the opening days. Wide receiver George Pickens took his first reception of camp to the end zone, and rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham drew notice with reps alongside the first-team defense.
The schedule ahead includes joint practices and scrimmages against the Rams and Saints on the West Coast, giving coaches a live look at how a healthy, high-expectation roster stacks up against outside competition before the season begins.
