Energy Transfer Moves Its Primary Listing to the Texas Stock Exchange
The Dallas pipeline giant and three affiliates began trading on TXSE on Oct. 5, a major early win for the new exchange.
Energy Transfer shifted its primary stock listing from the New York Stock Exchange to the Texas Stock Exchange beginning Oct. 5.
The move covered Energy Transfer, Sunoco, SunocoCorp and USA Compression Partners, which Dallas Express described as nearly $100 billion in combined corporate market value. Trading tickers were unchanged. A law-firm deal roundup called the group the exchange's first corporate primary listings, following the September transfer of two Texas Capital exchange-traded funds.
Home-state ties
Energy Transfer's founder and chairman, Kelcy Warren, owns about 30% of TXSE Group, the exchange's parent, according to reporting on the switch. Other Texas companies lined up behind it: Dillard's was slated to begin trading on Oct. 5, and Origin Bank's parent company was expected to follow on Oct. 13 under its existing ticker, OBK. Texas Capital Bancshares began TXSE trading on Oct. 8.
The listings are a milestone for an exchange that launched live trading in July and is courting energy and financial companies headquartered in the state.
