Texas A&M Real Estate Research Center data show 7,228 sales and a median price of $379,990, down 1.56%.
Dallas–Fort Worth's housing market cooled in September, with fewer sales than a year ago and a slightly lower median price.
Data from the Texas Real Estate Research Center at Texas A&M University, as summarized by Norada Real Estate, show 7,228 homes sold across the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metro, down 6.61% from September 2025. The median price eased 1.56% to $379,990.
Part of a statewide pattern
The softening mirrors other big Texas metros: Houston sales fell 5.7% and Austin sales 14.8% in September, while San Antonio prices slipped about 2%. Texas Realtors' Q3 report, released Oct. 20, put the statewide median at $333,628, down 0.4%, with 5.5 months of inventory.
The Dallas Fed's October service-sector survey also found executives citing higher interest rates as a drag on real estate, lending and home-purchase activity.
